You can change the bank account you receive payouts on at any time in your Mollie Dashboard. Before you switch, make sure your new account meets Mollie's requirements — see which account types are supported.
Adding a new bank account
- In your Mollie Dashboard, click your organisation name in the top left corner.
- Go to Settings > Bank account.
- Click Add bank account and fill in all required fields.
- Choose how to verify your account:
- Via Plaid — securely link your bank account to share your details automatically.
- Via bank transfer — make a transfer of €0.01 from your bank account to Mollie's account. The transfer must come from the account you're registering.
- Click Verify bank account.
Mollie will verify your account details and notify you by email when it's approved. This typically takes one business day.
Selecting your new account for payouts
Once your new account is approved, you need to set it as your active payout account:
- In your Mollie Dashboard, go to Reports > Balance > Settings.
- Under Bank account, select your new account.
- Click Save.
From the next payout onwards, payments will be sent to the new account.
Removing an old bank account
You can only remove a bank account once a different account has been added and set as your active payout account.
- Go to Settings > Bank account.
- Click More (three dots) next to the account you want to remove.
- Select Remove.
Good to know
- You'll be asked to complete two-factor authentication (2FA) when adding or changing bank account details.
- Verifying an account does not guarantee payouts will succeed. Some account types — such as accounts where the IBAN and BIC belong to different countries — may pass verification but fail at payout. Check which account types are supported before adding a new account.
- If a payout is returned to Mollie after you change your bank account, read My payout has been returned to Mollie's account. What should I do?
Receiving payouts in a currency other than EUR
If you want to receive payouts in a non-primary currency — for example GBP, SEK, or USD — this is a separate feature called multi-currency payouts. It works differently from changing your primary bank account.
With multi-currency payouts, Mollie creates an additional balance in the new currency. Payments received in that currency settle directly to that balance, and are paid out to a dedicated bank account in that currency.
Eligibility
Multi-currency payouts are available to merchants who receive high transaction volumes in the target currency and are eligible for Mollie volume pricing. If the Add payout currency option is not visible in your Dashboard, your account may not yet meet the eligibility threshold. Contact our support team to discuss your options.
