Why does Mollie need to know the percentage of ownership per UBO?

As a financial institution, we are legally obligated to identify and verify the UBOs of our merchants. We ask you to provide us with the percentage of ownership per UBO to verify the stakeholder meets the definition of a UBO. If your stakeholder doesn’t meet the criteria for a UBO, please identify a pseudo-UBO in your organization.

Why does Mollie need proof of address for my UBOs?

In some cases, we may request you to verify the address of the UBO(s) of your organisation. To support us in this, we request a proof of address document. Examples of proof of address are:

  • A recent utility bill.
  • A recent bank statement showing the address.
  • A declaration from the municipality.

The proof of address you submit is not allowed to be older than 6 months.
