How does two-factor authentication work?

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for your Mollie account. With this, you add an additional step when you log in to your Mollie account. First, you’ll enter your password as you’re used to. After this, you log in via an Authenticator app or with a code you receive through text message.

 

What you need to know in advance

When adding multiple users to your Mollie account each user can set up two-factor authentication.

 

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

  1. Open your Mollie Dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of your organization on the top left.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Go to the tab Security.
  5. Enable the two-factor authentication method you prefer.
  6. Perform the two-factor authentication authentication to set up the method.
    • Can you not log in? Check if you verified your email yet.

 

How do I disable two-factor authentication?

  1. Open your Mollie Dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of your organization on the top left.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Go to the tab Security.
  5. Click on delete next to the preferred two-factor authentication method.
    • Please note that deleting all two-factor authentication methods will disable your two-factor authentication entirely.
  6. Enter your password to confirm.

 

How can I reset two-factor authentication?

Have you lost the device you use when you log in into your Mollie account or is the device broken?Sometimes you can reset two-factor authentication.

  1. Fill in this form.
  2. You will receive an email where you can confirm your request.

Where do I get back up codes for two-factor authentication?

To find your two-factor authentication backup codes:
  1. Open your Mollie Dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of your account in the top left.
  3. Go to Account settings > Security.
  4. Select Show codes.
