How do I enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

Multi-factor authentication is an extra layer of security when you log in to your Mollie account. You can choose to use the Mollie mobile app or any Authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) to verify your identity every time you log in.

What you need to know in advance

  • Each team member on an account can set up MFA.
  • Account owners and Administrators must have multi-factor authentication enabled to manage accounts. Some actions require the user to perform a multi-factor authentication check.
  • We advise that you enable push notifications for the best experience when using the Mollie App as a multi-factor authentication (MFA) device.

Enabling multi-factor authentication

  1. In your Mollie Dashboard, click on the icon in the top right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Security.
  3. Under Add authentication method, enable a multi-factor authentication method.
  4. [Optional] Install the Mollie App for faster and more secure login.
  5. Perform multi-factor authentication to confirm.

Where do I find backup codes?

To find your multi-factor authentication backup codes:

  1. In your Mollie Dashboard, click on the icon in the top right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Security.
  3. Under Backup codes, click on Show codes

Disabling multi-factor authentication

  1. In your Mollie Dashboard, click on the icon in the top right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Security.
  3. Click on Remove next to an authentication method.
    • If you remove all authentication methods, MFA will be disabled on your account entirely.
  4. Enter your password to confirm.
