How do I use the Insights page?
Your Insights page gives you a detailed overview of your business performance across key payment metrics. You can use it to:
- Track your revenue and compare it to the same period last year
- Monitor your conversion rate to understand how often payments are completed successfully
- See your average transaction value to understand your customers' spending habits
- Review refunds and chargebacks for a selected period
- Forecast expected revenue for up to three months ahead*
- Break down your metrics by payment method
*Subject to eligibility. If you do not see revenue forecast in your dashboard, it means you have not accumulated enough continuous activity within Mollie yet. Once there is enough data, the option will show automatically.
What you need to know in advance
Insights replaces the Statistics page in Mollie. If you previously used the Statistics page, you will find the same revenue and refund data in Insights, along with additional performance metrics. Furthermore, once enough data is collected, your revenue forecasts become available automatically.
The revenue shown in Insights may not match the total in your transaction report - this is because Insights page displays all processed payments (including payments that have not yet been paid out and may have settlement delays). For bookkeeping purposes, we recommend using your Balance Report, as it reflects the most accurate payment data.
Currently, all times are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to avoid time-related issues such as daylight saving time.

Using the period selector
At the top of the Insights page, you can select a time period you want to view the data for. Click the Period button to open the date picker.
You can choose a custom start and end date using the datepicker or pick from these quick options:
- Today
- This month
- Last 3 months
- This year
All metrics and charts on the page update to reflect the period you select. Insights automatically compares your selected period to the same period a year prior - for example, April 2026 is compared to April 2025 and the percentage shown next to each metric reflects the year-over-year comparison.
Understanding your revenue
Your revenue figure in the top left of the revenue chart shows your total processed (gross) volume for the selected period - that is, the total amount of all payments that were successfully paid.
The percentage shown in green or red next to the revenue figure indicates how your revenue has changed compared to the same period last year.
Understanding the revenue graph
The graph shows your total revenue over the selected period:
- horizontal axis represents time
- vertical axis represents revenue in the given currency
When you hover over the graph, the tooltip shows that day’s revenue (by payment method), along with the same day’s revenue from last year.
- The solid blue line shows your revenue for the current period
- The grey line shows your revenue for the same period last year
You can switch between two views using the toggle at the bottom left corner of the graph:
- Cumulative: shows your total revenue building up over time. Useful for tracking progress toward a monthly or quarterly target.
- Trend: shows your revenue by day or week, making it easier to spot patterns and peaks.
Understanding your revenue forecast
If the revenue forecast feature is available in your account, you will see a Show revenue forecast for 3 months toggle at the bottom right of the graph.
When this toggle is on:
- The graph extends beyond the current date to show a projected revenue line (shown as a dashed line) for up to next three months
- The shaded area around the dashed line shows the range of likely outcomes - the wider the band, the more volatile a forecast can be
- The forecasted revenue figure is displayed in the top right corner of the graph
Your forecasted revenue is based on your historical payment trends. It is an estimate and not a guarantee of future performance.
Please note that revenue forecasts can only be generated once enough data has been collected and will appear automatically in the Insights page.
Understanding your metrics
Below the revenue graph, you will find four metric cards: Payment Success Rate, Average transaction value, Refunds and Chargebacks.
Payment Success Rate
Your payment success rate rate is the percentage of payment attempts that were successfully completed.
It is calculated only using payments where a customer actively interacted with the checkout - for example, a customer who chose a payment method and attempted to pay.
Payments that expired before a customer took any action are not included in this calculation.
A higher payment success rate rate means a greater share of customers who started a payment successfully completed it.
A drop in this rate can indicate a technical issue (e.g., with a specific payment method), or friction in your checkout flow.
The tooltip that appears when you hover over the payment success rate rate graph shows the conversion rate broken down by payment method for that day, along with the same day’s revenue from last year.
Average transaction value
Your average transaction value is the average revenue per successfully completed payment for the selected time period.
It is calculated by dividing the total revenue from paid payments by the total number of paid payments.
This metric helps you understand how much your customers typically spend, and to track whether that amount is increasing or decreasing over time compared to the previous year.
Refunds
Your refunds card shows the total value of all refunds processed in the selected period.
Chargebacks
Your chargebacks card shows the total value of all chargebacks received in the selected period.
Using the payment method breakdown
At the bottom of the Insights overview, you will find a table that breaks down all metrics by payment method.
For each payment method, the table shows:
- Revenue
- Payment Success Rate
- Average transaction value
- Refunds
- Chargebacks
Each column can be sorted in ascending or descending order. Click the arrows next to a column heading to change the sort order.
Viewing a payment method in detail
Click on any payment method row in the table to open a detailed view for that payment method. The detail view shows:
- A summary bar with the total number of transactions, average transaction value, refunds, and chargebacks for the selected period
- A revenue chart showing daily or weekly revenue for a specific payment method, compared to the same period last year
- A payment success rate chart showing how the payment success rate for that payment method has changed over time
To filter the detail view for a specific payment method, use the Payment method dropdown at the top of the page.

Mobile app
Insights is currently only available in the Mollie Web App. Mobile App support is coming soon.
Good to know
If a chargeback is reversed, it will no longer appear in your Insights chargebacks total. You can still view reversed chargebacks on the Chargebacks page.
If you need to export your payment data or share information with your accountant, use the Balance Report. It is not possible to export data directly from the Insights page.
