How to manage spending limits for your business account and cards

You can manage daily and monthly spending limits on your business accounts, and a monthly limit on individual cards. This gives you direct control over how much can be spent — and helps protect against unexpected charges.

Business account spending limits

On the dashboard

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard
  2. Go to the Accounts tab and select the account you want to manage
  3. Select More > Settings
  4. Select Spending limits
  5. Click Edit next to the daily or monthly limit
  6. Enter your new limit and confirm

On the app

  1. Open the Mollie app
  2. Go to Business Accounts and tap the account you want to manage
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Spending limits
  5. Tap Edit next to the daily or monthly limit
  6. Enter your new limit and confirm

Note: When increasing a spending limit, you'll be prompted to confirm via the mobile app. For your security, the new limit takes effect up to 4 hours after confirmation.

Card spending limits

Cards have a monthly limit (editable by users with card management permissions) and a transaction limit (set by Mollie, not editable).

If you have card management permissions

On the dashboard

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard
  2. Go to Business Accounts and select Cards
  3. Select the card you want to manage
  4. Select Card limits
  5. Click Edit next to the monthly limit
  6. Enter your new limit and confirm

On the app

  1. Open the Mollie app
  2. Go to the Cards tab
  3. Select the card you want to manage
  4. Tap the Settings icon
  5. Tap Card limits
  6. Tap Edit next to the monthly limit
  7. Enter your new limit and confirm

If you are a cardholder

You can view your current limits at any time — on the app, go to the Cards tab, select your card, and tap Spending limits.

You cannot edit limits directly. To request a change:

On the dashboard

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard
  2. Go to Business Accounts and select Cards
  3. Select your card
  4. Select Card limits and submit a limit change request

Your request will appear as a task in the Task Centre for an admin to review and approve.

On the app

There is no self-service request flow in the app. Contact an admin in your organisation directly to request a limit change.

Note: The transaction limit (the maximum allowed per individual transaction) is set by Mollie and cannot be changed by anyone in your organisation.
