What is an iDEAL profile and how do I set one up?

When making a payment through iDEAL using your Mollie Business Account, you also have the option to create an iDEAL profile, or link your Mollie Business Account to an existing iDEAL profile.

Creating an iDEAL profile will allow you to make use of iDEAL Fast Payment or iDEAL Checkout when making an online payment.


What you need to know in advance

The iDEAL profile is completely optional. If you decide to make use of the iDEAL profile, your account details, contact details and delivery address will be linked to your profile and you won’t have to fill these details in every time you make a purchase.

You will never be asked to share more sensitive information (such as government IDs and documentation) when setting one up.

After setting up an iDEAL profile, your settings are stored with the owner of iDEAL, Currence iDEAL B.V. You agree to share your IBAN (account number), contact details and address details. Once done, your iDEAL profile will be recognised when making a payment and you will then have to confirm the payment using your Mollie mobile app.

How do I set up an iDEAL profile?

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard or mobile app
  2. Go to the Accounts tab and select the account for which you want to manage settings
  3. Select More > Settings
  4. Select Create an iDEAL profile
  5. Select the account(s) you want to connect to your profile
  6. You will be redirected to iDEAL to continue the set up and finish the registration

How do I manage an existing iDEAL profile?

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard or mobile app
  2. Go to the Accounts tab and select the account for which you want to manage settings
  3. Select More > Settings
  4. Select Manage your profile at iDEAL
  5. You will be redirected to iDEAL to manage the associated settings of to your profile
