Which devices are compatible with the Terminal App?

Before you can start accepting in-person payments using the Mollie Terminal App, you need to make sure your account is properly set up and your smartphone or device meets our minimum technical requirements.

1. Account prerequisites

Before checking your device, please ensure your account is ready to go:

  • You have successfully completed the Mollie onboarding process.

  • Your business is verified and eligible for in-person payments.

  • You have actively enabled Point of Sale within the Mollie App settings.

2. Device compatibility

A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data) is required across all devices to successfully process transactions.

Apple (iOS)

  • iPhone running iOS 16 or newer.

Android 

If you are using an Android device, it must meet the following minimum hardware and software specifications to ensure secure and reliable payments:

  • Operating System: Android 10.0 or higher.

  • Security: An Android Security patch that is less than 12 months old.

  • Processor: 64-bit ARM v8 processor (or greater).

  • Hardware: Must be a single-screen device.

  • NFC: Built-in Near Field Communication (android.hardware.nfc) for contactless tapping.

  • Google Services: Google Mobile Services (GMS) must be fully certified and enabled on the device.
