What is Transaction Margin Report?

Our Transaction Margin Report provides the detailed data SaaS Partners need for accurate reconciliation, invoicing, and effective pricing strategy optimization.

Where to Find the Report?

Our SaaS Partners can find and download your Transaction Margin Reports within the Mollie Dashboard.

To generate yours:

  1. Log into your Mollie Dashboard.
  2. Go to 'Reports' and select the 'Transaction Margin' tab.
  3. You will find the full list of your past generated reports, including their creation dates and statuses.

How to Generate the Report?

  1. Generate a new report by clicking on “Create”.
  2. Choose a desired data range.
  3. Click 'create' to initiate the report generation.

Reports generate asynchronously, therefore the report can have multiple status:

  • ‘In progress’: Report generation is ongoing. Refresh to update.
  • ‘Completed’: Your report is ready for download.
  • ‘Generation failed’: Report could not be generated.
  • ‘No data found’: No data for the selected period.
  • ‘Outdated’: A newer report exists for this time range.

Once 'Completed', download the .csv file. It's suitable for manual analysis or bulk import. Any Mollie account holder can access and download these reports.

Important: You cannot request same-day data. You also cannot request data for a single day; a date range is required.

Which Data Are Included in the Report?

  • Payment Method Information: Method, Method Card Audience, Method Card Label, Method Card Funding, Method Fee Region, Method Billing Country, Method Terminal Id, Method channel, Method submethod, and Method voucher brand provide deep insight into how payments were processed.

Why Cannot I Find All the Data in My Report?

If your report appears incomplete, consider these two factors:

  • Missing Permissions: As outlined in the Prerequisites, your access token needs payments.read and organizations.read scopes. If your token lacks these permissions for a specific client, all payments and associated data for that client will be excluded from the report. To resolve this, ensure you have requested authorization for both scopes from your clients via the Authorize API.
  • Timezone Differences: All data in the Transaction Margin Report is based on Central European Time (CET) or Central European Summer Time (CEST), depending on the time of year. If you are operating in a different timezone, you may observe discrepancies in daily or monthly data totals due to these time differences.
