Credit and debit cards are popular payment methods globally. When a cardholder pays with a credit or debit card, they can contact their bank and reverse the transaction within 180 days of the purchase or order delivery.
If a chargeback is requested, the cardholder’s bank (called the ‘issuer’) reports this to Mollie’s bank (known as the ‘acquirer’). We will report the chargeback to you. You can also see the chargeback under Transactions in your Mollie Dashboard. If the issuer accepts the chargeback, the transaction will be reversed and a chargeback cost will be deducted. You can object to a chargeback, so it’s important to respond to a chargeback notification as soon as possible.
