Why is my money put on hold?

You can find your available balance in your Mollie Dashboard at Administration > Balance. Your balance can have 3 statuses: 

  • Available
  • On hold
  • Sent

This status indicates what will happen with your money in the future.

 

Status ‘On hold’

The funds in your ‘on hold’ balance are funds that belong to you, but they are not yet available. We did not receive the funds yet, and therefore we have not paid you the amount yet. This could be for several reasons, such as a banking delay or settlement delay. If your customer pays with a risky payment method, there is a settlement delay:

  • 5 business days for credit and debit card payments.
  • 5 business days for Klarna payments. 
  • 10 business days for SEPA Direct Debit payments. 

As soon as we receive your funds, your balance will become available.
