How do I make an iDEAL payment?
On mobile (Mollie App)
- Open the Mollie App on your phone.
- When a payment request arrives, you will see the Confirm iDEAL payment screen with the recipient name, amount, and a payment description.
- Under From account, select the business account you want to pay from.
- Confirm your identity using Face ID, fingerprint, or your device PIN.
- Select Confirm to approve the payment.
You will see a confirmation once the payment is successful.
On desktop (QR code)
- On the payment page, a QR code is shown.
- Open the Mollie App on your phone and scan the QR code.
- The app will open the payment confirmation screen — follow the same steps as the mobile flow above.
- The desktop page updates automatically once the payment is confirmed.
Troubleshooting
The iDEAL payment screen shows "iDEAL payment unavailable". The payment may have expired or is no longer active. Ask the sender to create a new payment request.
I see "Permission required" when trying to approve a payment. You need payment processing permissions to approve iDEAL payments. Contact your account admin to update your access level.
The QR code page shows "Payment failed" or "Payment canceled". The payment was either declined or you selected Cancel payment during the flow. You will be redirected back to the payment page automatically. Contact the payee to retry if needed.
