How do I adopt a multi-balance setup for my Mollie account

If you currently use multiple Mollie accounts or an account with multiple profiles, you can consolidate them into a single account with additional balances. This gives you a cleaner setup and easier cash flow management under one account.

If you have more than one Mollie account

  1. Choose the Mollie account you want as your main account and log in.
  2. Create a new balance for each additional account you want to consolidate. For instructions, read How do I set up additional balances for a Mollie account?
  3. In the Dashboard, go to Reports > Balances, click on the new balance, and click Use your API key to find the API key for that balance.
  4. In each sales channel that was connected to a secondary account, replace the old API key with the new one from step 3.
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 for each secondary account you want to migrate.

Note: you may still receive refunds or chargebacks on your previous accounts. You'll need to manage those transactions from those accounts until they are no longer active.

If you have more than one profile

  1. Log in to your Mollie account.
  2. For each profile you want to assign its own balance:
    • Go to Settings > Profiles and select the profile.
    • Under Linked balance, select + Add balance (or click here) to create a new balance for that profile.
    • Go to Reports > Balances, click the new balance, and click Use your API key to get the API key.
    • In the sales channel connected to that profile, replace the old API key with the new one.
  3. Repeat step 2 for each profile you want to give its own balance.

If you link an existing profile to a new balance, payments generated via that profile's API key will flow into the new balance going forward. Revenue already received stays in the original balance.
