How to create a payment on your terminal
You can create a payment and process it directly on your terminal. Once completed, the transaction and its status will be visible in your Mollie Dashboard and Mollie app.
Before you begin
- To create a payment via the Mollie app or Dashboard, you must have a user role that allows you to manage payments
- If you need to issue a refund, this can be done via your Mollie Dashboard or Mollie app
Ways to create a payment
There are four ways to create a payment on your terminal. Choose the method that best fits your workflow.
1. Directly on the terminal
To create payments directly on the terminal, Local Sales must be enabled. To enable this feature:
- Tap the home screen three times quickly to open the settings menu
- Enter your passcode (found in your Mollie Dashboard or on the QR code included with your delivery)
- Go to More in the menu
- Enable Local Sales
Once enabled, a button will appear in the top right corner of the home screen. Tap it to go directly to the payment flow. On the A35 (fixed terminal), you can also press the green button to get there.
To create a payment:
- Enter an amount and add a description if needed
- The terminal is ready to accept payment
2. Via the Mollie App
To create a payment, you must have a user role that allows you to manage payments.
- Go to Payments and tap Create terminal payment
- Select the profile you want to use to receive the payment
- Choose your terminal
- Enter an amount and add a description if needed
- The payment request will be sent to your terminal
3. Via the Mollie Dashboard
- In the menu, go to Point-of-Sale
- Click Create payment
- Select the profile you want to use to receive the payment
- Choose your terminal
- Enter an amount and add a description if needed
- The payment request will be sent to your terminal
4. Via API or SaaS Integration
You can also create payments programmatically by integrating your terminal with our API, or by connecting it to your SaaS platform.
