Am I eligible for the Mollie business account and how can I set one up?

What you need to know in advance

You can start the setup of a Mollie business account through the Home page in your Mollie dashboard or mobile app. You will be required to complete the application process through the mobile app and also to set the Mollie mobile app as your 2FA method.

Download the app from an approved app store such as the Google play store or app store.

Am I eligible for the Mollie business account?

If you are eligible for the Mollie business account, you will see the option to create an account via the Home page in the Mollie dashboard. If you do not see the option, it means you are likely not yet eligible.

To set up a Mollie business account your business must be:

  • based in the Netherlands
  • registered as a sole trader
  • actively using Mollie’s payment services with payouts enabled

Only the registered legal representative for the business can set up and manage the bank account.

How do I set up a Mollie business account?

  1. Log in to your Mollie dashboard or mobile app
  2. Go to the Home page. You will see the option to open a Mollie business account if you are eligible
  3. Click Open account. If you are logged in to the Mollie dashboard, you will be prompted to complete the setup in the mobile app by scanning a QR code
  4. Follow the steps in the app to open the business bank account, where you will be required to reverify your identity, provide basic tax information and provide information about your anticipated usage of the business account

Once the steps are complete, you will see confirmation that your Mollie business account has been created

When will Mollie review my request to create a business account?
Based on the information you provide during the account creation process, we might need more time to review the creation of your account. If this is the case, you will see the status we’re reviewing your info and you will be notified once our review is complete.

If we need further information from you in order to open your business account, we will reach out to you via email with details of the information we need.
