Am I eligible for Capital funding and how can I apply?

If you’re ready for fast and flexible financing, you can apply for funding through Capital in your Mollie Dashboard. 

Am I eligible for Capital funding?

Your business must:

  • be based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France or the United Kingdom. 
  • have been actively using Mollie’s payment services for a minimum of 3 months.
  • have had a minimum transaction volume of € 500,- per month for the last 3 months. 
  • have a healthy transaction history (e.g. acceptable rates of chargebacks, no negative balance)
  • have not been refused for Mollie Capital in the last 3 months.

Who can apply?

  • Only a registered UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner) can apply.
  • You must also be the account owner or have an Administrator role.
  • Only the user who started the application can complete it.

How do I apply?

  1. In your Mollie Dashboard, choose Capital from the menu. 
  2. Follow the steps to request financing offers. 
  3. If you have offers, they are typically available within 24 hours. To view these check the Capital page.
  4. Select the best option for your needs. The funding will be sent to your bank account within 24 hours.

    IMPORTANT: to make a Capital request, the name of the user (owner) needs to match the exact name of the registered UBO. In case the name does not match the UBO name you provided while creating the account, your Capital request will not be successful. You can change the name to the correct one under user settings in the top right corner of your Mollie Web App. Make sure to use the Legal rep/UBO name (not necessarily your passport details). 
    In case the UBO of the organization is not the owner of the account, they need to be added as admin user. Only the UBO can access the Capital page.

Will it affect my credit score? 

No. When you apply for Capital funding, our partner will perform a soft credit check on your business and the Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO). This check does not impact credit rating. If you need to change your UBO information, contact our Support team to update this on your account.

 

Do I need to provide additional documents? 

After submitting your application, it is possible that additional information is required to proceed with your application. This can include:

  • Bank statements
  • Clarification of payment data
  • Proof of address
  • Request to file your annual accounts

Why do I need to file my annual accounts?

If you haven’t filed your most recent financial statements with your local trade register, your Capital application may be placed on hold until you do. We require these filings to complete a credit assessment of your organisation. You can check with your local trade register about filing annual accounts for your business.
