Why does Mollie need a shareholders register of my company?

During the signup process, we ask certain merchants to provide us with a shareholders register of their company. This is a list of active owners of your company’s shares. This list includes each shareholder’s name, address and number of shares owned. If one or more of the shareholders in your organisation is a legal entity, we also ask you to upload the shareholder register of each legal entity in your company’s structure.

Due to our regulations, we are required to identify and verify our merchants. This includes information on the ultimate beneficial owners (UBO’s). By requesting the shareholder register, we are able to verify if the provided information is correct.

We request a shareholders register from companies with the following legal forms:

  • Business Partnership
  • Charitable Company
