SEPA, the Single Euro Payments Area, is European-driven regulation which aims to create one single, integrated and standardised payments market making it easier to do business across Europe. It aims to make cross-border EUR transfers within this area equivalent to a domestic transfer within your own country.
What does SEPA mean to me as a merchant?
Processing a bank transfer within the SEPA-area takes a few business days. You will receive a message from us via the API if the payment is successful. Did you set up a notification? Then you’ll also receive an email or text message. If the transaction fails, we’ll refund the money to the consumer. This happens when a consumer, for instance, entered the wrong payment reference or didn’t pay the full amount.
